Factions Top Ten
Posted December 26, 2000 - 9:48 PM PST by Beldin
Well factions has been upon us long enough now for us to start making some
observations. While I'm certain many of you have more serious takes on the war
raging in towns throughout the land, I have decided to take a different
approach. So with out further delay I present you the
Top Ten Reason I have Zero Faction Points.
10. LAG!
9. I died once a week ago (see # 10) and I'm still being res killed.
8. The Frenzied Ostard I bought won't let me ride it
7. My "main" isn't in a faction6. I'm in Minax
5. Every time I loot someone's kill I go gray and fellow faction members kill
me.
4. I WAS GANKED!
3. IaManeWbIe and I SUX!
2. The only town I go to is Brit
1. Factions? What's a Faction?
In all seriousness I think factions are the first thing OSI has done right in a
long time. I have been having lots of fun participating in factions but what do
you think of them.
Is in-game support worth anything?

I love this picture!
However the reality of in-game support is far less amusing.

What am I trying to say?
Well, I placed the call on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 PM and I received help roughly 3 hours later at 6:26 PM.
I don’t know about you, but I would much rather get a message that says:“Give up buddy, no one is around to help you!”
I guess the question is; Should we expect more for our $10.00 per month, or are we getting what we pay for?

PS. In case you are wondering why I hung around for so long, it was just to see how long it really takes for in-game support.
I don’t mean to suggest that it takes this long every time, in fact I’m sure it doesn’t. (I once received help in just about 1 hour! Woot!)
PPS. I stole this picture from someone else that claims to have stolen it!
My apologies to the owner (however, I would have to believe they fully support my use of the picture!)
It seems factions can block with boxes!
Posted December 17, 2000 - 10:24 AM PST by Adam Ant
Okay, here is an exclusive straight from the AdamVision studios ![]()
Last night while I was filming the Battles that surround the CoM stronghold, Counselor Lord Mogley showed up to caution us about using boxes for blocking opposing faction members from entering.
I have the complete log of what Counselor Lord Mogley said, but I have eliminated all the blibber-blabber that went one in-between. (I did include a couple of contextually important statements by other players.)
The following statements are taken from my log ‘as is’ without any edits.

When a Guardian takes a night off…
Posted December 16, 2000 - 2:16 PM PST by Adam Ant
As a Guardian, I spend many long hours in hiding, patrolling the caves of Wind and other dungeons about Sosaria.
Well, last night I had had enough!
I packed a bag, strapped on my sword and headed out to Skara Brae to try my hand at adventuring.
How do you suppose that turned out?

Res Killing
Posted December 9, 2000 - 2:58 PM PST by Beldin
Oh Please someone say this is a joke and OSI really didn't need to post this.
Resurrection Killing As a reminder, the action
known as "resurrection killing" is not a support issue. Please do not call or e-mail our support staff regarding resurrection killing. Instead, use alternative locations or methods for resurrection in a less dangerous area. If in a Faction or guild war, take note of the surroundings before attempting a
resurrection. It is also a good idea to travel unseen to other players while looking for a place to resurrect.
If you need to read from there page to believe it

Recall and Gate to T2A!
Posted December 7, 2000 - 10:35 AM PST by Adam Ant
Straight from the source.
The current travel restrictions that exist between T2A (Second Age lands) and Britannia (Old Lands) will be lifted in the following manner:
This is awesome!I especially like the recall and gate between the two lands (it will now be much easier for me to visit you there
)
We have just begun to fight.

The Faction system detailed at http://update.uo.com/next.html will go active on all remaining shards on Wednesday, December 6th once the servers come back from their regularly scheduled maintenance. The shards which have not yet begun factions and will thus be affected by this publish are Baja, Napa Valley, Great Lakes, Lake Superior, Catskills, Chesapeake, AOL Legends, Formosa, Oceania, and all European, Japanese and Korean shards.
Ah...as if death wasn't enough with the Chaos/Order patch.
The following was posted to "General Testing":
The current travel restrictions that exist between T2A (Second Age lands) and Britannia (Old Lands) will be lifted in the following manner:
Players will be able to recall and gate between the Lost Lands (T2A) and Britannia.
Passageways and connection points between the Lost Lands and Britannia will be open to tamed creature travel.
Players will be able to use stablemasters in both areas with T2A or Britannian creatures. Players will be able to remove Lost Lands creatures from the stables while being within the Britannian lands, and vice versa.
Players will be able to ride a mounted ostard or rideable llama across Lost Land/Britannian access points.
Got to love all those Colored ostards at Brit Bank along with Glacial Staves, Demon and Phoenix armor. Bleh...
Hasta.
