To enter combat, click the button on your paperdoll marked 'peace.' A single click changes it to 'war.' Another click will change it back. While in war mode, if you double click on a person, monster, or animal, you will attack them. If you have a bow equipped, you will automatically shoot at your target. If you have a melee weapon equipped, then you must move close to your target to be in range of the weapon, and you will begin attacking.

With most two handed weapons, you can perform special moves. With a sword skill based weapon, you can execute a concussion blow which will lower the mana of the target. With a fencing based weapon, you can execute a paralyzing blow which will temporarily paralyze your opponent. With a mace based weapon you an execute a crushing blow which will deal extra damage to the target. All special attacks cost mana and also require you to have the anatomy skill.

An excpetion to the above is the combat skill wrestling. Which has two special moves one a paralyzing or stunning blow, and another a weapon disarming blow which requires the skill arms lore to perform. Both however cost stamina vs mana to perform.


To access the special attacks, use the macro menu on your paper doll (options button, then lower left hand tab) to assign "primary ability" to a specific key stroke. When you want to execute the special move, ensure a proper weapon is equipped, hit your keystroke, and your character will attempt the ability.

Secondary ability, also listed on your macros, is disabled for OUO.
