The following items have either been fixed or enhanced.

  • Rares Factory
    The system is now online.
    This system allows the creation if true rares (one of a kind) and works the Item ID changes outlined below.
    Note: we are not currently generating any rares.
  • Item Identification Skill
    The Item Identification Skill has been enhanced to display the unique markings that the Rares Factory puts on the item. Rare items will show up to Item Identification something like the following:
    A bottle of gammy Beaujolais
    bottle 9 of 13
  • Tourney Stone
    Fix a text translation error that was providing incorrect naming for things like potions.
  • Boats
    Changes to support upcoming Pirating system.
  • Help Stuck
    Code, logic, and comments cleanup.
  • Boat exploit
    Fix a boat exploit.
  • Library bookcase
    Library bookcase renaming bug fix
    - Moved rename button from background so creation is first-page conditional
    - Changed rename graphic from large red diamond to smaller, blue symbol
  • Krrios / PlayUO client detection - internal
    Sorry, no other details at this time.
  • Bounty ledger
    Fix an exception in the code that removes nonexistent players
  • Inhuman speech engine
    Improve the ability for creatures to recognize certain patterns of speech.
  • Anti scripter logic - internal
    Sorry, no other details at this time.
  • Shard Decorate logic - internal
    Remove code to decorate the lands that we do not use.
    Other cleanup.
  • Bed rolls
    Fix a bug involving disappearing bed rolls.
  • Seasonal Champ
    The Seasonal Champ is in beta now.
    I'll make a separate post telling players how to help test the new champ.

    1. Redesign a bit of code that allowed the condition that was resulting in an illegal castle break-in
    2. Re-enable tower placement
  • Name Verification - internal
    Updates to our internal list of valid names.
  • Player Vendors - internal
    Track and repair phantom items.
    Periodically Player Vendors will have a phantom item which artificially inflates the amount charged to the player. We've added code to automatically remove the phantom items and added tracking code to help us determine how it's happening.
  • [who command - internal
    Fix a bug that was causing a shard crash.

The following items have either been fixed or enhanced.

  • New CAPTCHA system is online.
    A CAPTCHA ("Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart") is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to determine whether or not the user is human.
    We have implemented a CAPTCHA to stop the unattended gathering of resources.
    1. The system will prompt miners and loggers to solve a simple puzzle.
    2. Any failures and the resource gatherer will be prevented from further resource gathering until the CAPTCHA has been completed successfully.
    (You will need to try to gather resources in another 5 minutes to get another CAPTCHA.)
    3. Too many failures and the robot will be set to criminal and placed on the town crier (and account marked)
    Note: There will be no more unattended ore or log gathering on this shard!
  • Pirating system and Boats
    We've redesigned the way boats work in order to make them a little less secure so as to encourage pirating.
    1. You must have the boat key on your person to command the boat
    2. your ghost may command the boat as long as your corpse on the boat has the key on it.
    3. Bone decay times have been increased for bones on a boat when they hold a key
    4. you can now dry dock a boat that has ghosts onboard (they get kicked to shore.)
    5. you may not dry dock a boat with clutter on deck (including bones)
    6. You can no longer recall off a boat key, but single clicking it will display where it is located.

  • Grappling Hooks – new item
    The Pirate Smuggler NPC now sells grappling hooks.
    A grappling hook is a rope with a big hook on it used to board a boat.
    Usage:
    1. You must be on a boat to use a grappling hook.
    2. You may only successfully grapple a boat that is not moving.
    3. Any living players on the boat you grapple will "toss the hook back into the ocean" whereby resulting in a failed grapple.
    4. If you successfully grapple a boat, you will receive a one-time teleport onto the deck of the target boat.

  • Field Spells
    Fix field spells so that they cannot be cast upon water.
  • Battle Chickens
    Our breeding system is coming online in chunks.
    The first installment is the ability to breed chickens.
    Note: This feature is currently Disabled.
  • Succubus, Semidar and LOS checks
    Succubus and Semidar now perform Line Of Sight checks before hitting you with their Area Effect (Hate) Spell .

  • CAPTCHA system fix
    Fix a minor bug where the CAPTCHA system was not testing players in a certain circumstance.
  • IDOC Scraping
    We now delete stackables, bank checks, and commodity deeds from IDOCS when they fall.
    This was done to reduce shard wealth over time via attrition.

    Fix an exception due to trying to spawn a "bongMagi" (lol)
  • Chicken Breeding
    We have merged in chicken breeding 1.0, but it is currently turned off until it is verified.
  • NPC Vendors
    Fix an exception in the NPC vendor code and add additional robustness checks and logging.
  • NOT OSI Custom houses
    Lay the groundwork for AI Style Custom houses.
    This project is still in development and described in another thread.
  • Facet deco logic
    Remove Facet deco logic from unused facets.
  • Old school weapon/armor labels
    We've gone back to the old school labeling for weapons and armor.
  • old school cuttable body parts
    Yep, this too.
  • Townships
    Player guilds can now purchase a Township deed which must be placed in the same structure as the guild stone. The Township stone will provide the menus necessary to run the Township.

  • Communication Crystals
    Fix a bug that was causing Communication Crystals to disconnect from one another under some circumstances.
  • ID Wands
    Fix a bug introduced into ID Wands that was preventing them from ID'ing enchantment scrolls.
  • Offline decay of murder counts
    Murder counts no longer decay offline (this was added for Shadow Clan / Broken Tusk 'baby orcs' that couldn't escape from prison.)
    With the many kin areas and the no-counts-for-kin killings, the offline decay is no longer needed.
    Players will need to rely on the accelerated prison decay time or prison escape.
  • guild war ring
    This is simply an option to guilds (through the guild stone) that adds them to a 'war ring'. Everyone in the ring flags enemy (orange) to each other (assuming that some other flagging isn't present).
  • Immovable items
    Logging of certain Immovable items.
  • RTT
    Better RTT logging.

  • Named weapon property display
    Named weapons (e.g. Claw of the Dragon) will display their properties like they used to. Weapons and Armor that didn't display their properties still shouldn't.
  • Sealed bows old school labels
    Display of sealed bows now display exceptional tag and maker.
  • "Greyed out" old school labels on weapons/armor
    You should no longer have to hover to see the labels in white.
  • Heartbeat jobs
    Internal change to jobs processing.
  • Chicken Breeding
    Fixed disappearing eggs, hatching messages.
    (Note: chicked breeding is still turned off, but stay tuned!)
  • RTT
    Tweak to the internals of our RTT tester (logging).
  • Township
    Changed enter message for consistency.
    Tweaked placement rules (ensure Siege Tents don't count as houses).

  • Custom Housing on Test Center Only
    Allow the creation of OSI style Custom houses on Test Center Only.
    Note: This feature will never be enabled on the production shard.
    Please see a new sticky post going up in the Static Housing forum shortly by yours truly with important rules.
  • Chicken breeding is now live
    Players can now start breeding chickens!!
    You can breed for STR, or maybe you want a DEX chicken?!!
    We won't start staff sponsored cock fights until we finish all the housing stuff we're working on, but we would really appreciate any player sponsored events to help jumpstart any breeding enthusiasm.


PS. We've come up with a plan for adding additional storage to houses.
Please note that this applies to all houses and has nothing to do with the new static houses being added, although they too will be able to use the new storage.
There will be limits placed on the new storage, and there will be an associated cost (Duh!)

    Code to make custom houses placeable on Test Center. (This code was put on TC days ago, and shouldn't affect Production)
  • Townships
    Fixed potential re-setting of travel rules on server restart. (Note: this case hasn't been hit yet since none of the towns have gotten to the point where they can place Evocators)
