I cant find any information ANYWHERE on how armor affects damage absorbed. Can anyone explain how the armor rating affects damage absorbed?

Also, what is a character's base virtual armor?

Virtual armor? Isn't it all virtual armor, since you're not wearing armor while you sit at your puter

anyway, i'm so very confused by the actual q. your virtual armor is 0. you absorb no damage if you have no armor.

in terms of "how" it's absorbed, do you mean from slashing, bashing weapon-types or...?

Each individual piece will reduce damage taken individually. Every blow you take hits you in a random location.

Tunics take the biggest% of hits and have the most AR, hence they are the most important piece.

While a shot to the neck is pretty rare, but gorgets don't have much AR, so the damage reduction is quite low indeed.

But that's because I'm a mailsmith, been making chainmail armour for 10 years, and platemail for 2.

First it calculates which piece of armor was hit, then some durability is lost to that piece but I want to know what the formula for damage absorption is. Also, is it different for each of these types of weapons vs each type of armor?

yeah, i'm pretty sure all weapon types affect all armor types equally. not positive.

i have no idea what the actual formula for absorption is. why do you need the precise formula?
