Hail dark friends,
Some nights past I encountered a highly skilled fighter who was not only aware of my existence, but had just finished reading about some of my recent adventures.
Nitro was in the first lich room as you enter Wind and was making short work of a lich who was just trying to enjoy the cool solitude of the cave.
I truly dislike the bow and this fighter seemed two be using a crossbow of some great magical power. For there was barely enough time to ready myself before Nitro had killed the lich.
I quickly dressed and dropped a paralyze spell on him as he laughed "Haha! I have just been reading your tales!"
His bow automatically fired at me as I cast on him.
This is probably the quality of the bow I like least. The warrior need not even know what’s going on before his weapon fires. Bah!
I was shocked at the damage that was done by that one hit.
I cast explosion, drew my kantana and moved in quickly.
I was quick, but Nitro had a healthy mount that could move like the wind.
I chased Nitro around the rocks in the cave doing moderate damage, but his steed kept him out of harms way while he continued to take shots at me from a distance.
At this time I was in grave shape with maybe 25% health. I darted down the hall to gain some distance so that I might heal. I quickly cast In Vas Mani and quaffed a Greater Heal potion which put me back on track.
I once again engaged Nitro but this time tried a magic attack. Nitro disarmed his bow and armed a kantana so as to interrupt my cast.
An excellent tactic indeed and most effective!
As soon as I tried to melee him again, he would draw his bow and begin galloping in circles around the rocks letting arrows fly.
I ran up on him once again and was able to poison him. I continued the melee but he simply road off and cast a spell of cure.
I was beginning to realize that dueling Nitro like this was simply not working. I ran out of the lair and was able to get off another In Vas Mani. I then quaffed a Greater Agility and Total Refresh potion and went for him one more time.
Nitro then galloped off screen entirety. I assume he was in need of a heal himself or possibly another cure. I chose this opportunity to take my leave.
Last eve I had the pleasure of engaging Nitro again.
We met at the dragon lair where we were chatting quite pleasantly when he attacked without provocation.
Unprepared and not wishing another duel, I took my leave.
When I returned to teach Nitro a thing or two about manners, he was waiting for me, hidden, on the teleporter.
I equipped my Halberd, but couldn’t tell if I had hit him as I did not have his status up. He was already doing great damage with his high dexterity and a kantana. I tried to stow my halberd and quaff a greater heal potion, but failed and therefore was unable to drink this magical elixir.
I was now taking extreme damage. I finally drank my potion, but I was so low on life force, it did nothing. Soon I would be dead.
I am not without humor over this event as death comes with my duties.
You are an excellent opponent Nitro and a gentleman for returning my belongings.
But know this, it is not over between us unless you comply with my law and wear the red scarf.
Until we meet again,
Adam Ant
