Hail dark friends,

Politics and I are like milk and vinegar. It is in no small part the reason that I have chosen the path that I have in these caves far from the city.

I received word from the castle of Lord British himself that great changes are coming to our lands. I have considered these changes and decided to let the ruler of our lands lay the bedding for his own good rest, for they are the vision of an overly indulged man that only sees the world through the bottom of his pint of ale.

You can not change the course of birds in flight as it is only on arrival at their final destination that their true fate be known.

I leave politics to the jesters and freedom fighters for I have not a taste for such fare.

My duties in Wind have not relented nor do I believe they will anytime soon.
While just last eve I had many glorious battles. The first of which was with the Weapon's Master, Lord Blackie.

I have seen Lord Blackie a number of times here in Wind and I have chased him from my caves as often.
Last eve though Lord Blackie stood against me for a time before running off to the safety of town.
He fought well for a bit, but with his grandmastery of magic and the fine beast on which he rode, you would think he would stay and fight me.

I have learned that those that continually run off to town to repair themselves are best dealt with at a later date when their situation is not so favorable.

I decided to head through the caverns to the dungeon Shame to test my skills against a true warrior.
Shame was quiet except for the Warrior Niccolo. I followed Niccolo for a time observing his battle techniques. I worry I do not get to spar with the true warrior enough, so I come here in search of such an encounter.

Niccolo did not disappoint. Not only was he an excellent swordsman, but he used a shield and wore a knight’s armor. I would test my skills on this one.

Shortly after dispatching an Earth Elemental, Niccolo healed himself and began to help himself the creatures bounty. I decloaked just behind him and lead my attack with my halberd. I then armed my kantana as did he.
He quaffed a potion and equipped his shield. We fought for a minute like this before I poisoned him and he had to stow the shield to heal himself. It was at this time I quaffed the greater agility potion and let into him without stopping to heal myself.

Without his shield and my now 101 dexterity, Niccolo’s health was plummeting.
He knew he was done for and made a mad dash around a corner and recalled away.

After this victory I decided to head back to Wind to look for Lord Blackie.

When I entered Wind, Lord Blackie was there and looked to be searching for something. I felt it impolite to keep him waiting to I was quick to greet him with and explosion spell followed by a deadly halberd hit. Lord Blackie mumbled some curses and rode off with me in pursuit. His steed was too fast and I quickly lost him.

After a brief stop to replenish my supplies I returned to Wind to resume my duties.
I came across baldur, a mage with a good understanding of the bladed weapons.
I came at him with a paralyze / explosion / energy bolt combination. He was in trouble and began to run for town when he then stopped, cast heal on himself and drew a halberd.
Aha! I drew my halberd and we went at each other. My first halberd swing connected and his missed. He then made a run for town and I chased him with my kantana in hand. I stopped him twice to score his flesh, once was at the very steps into town.

Baldur was extremely lucky as his status bar showed no perceptible life.

Thinking this night was over, I setoff to my den to sip a beaker of brandy and lay my head down.
As I was entering my Den, Nemesis arrived and immediately attacked a lich.

Reflexively I readied myself and cast a nasty barrage of magic on this scoundrel. Nemesis tried to recall away from this nightmare but I was now in close and doing massive damage with my kantana.

Nemesis tried to cast flamestrike on me but to no avail, as my fast blade interrupted his concentration. Nemesis then ran back into the den in an attempt to put a bit of distance between us.

Nemesis tried once again to cast flamestrike on me and was successful.
It was however the undoing of Nemesis as I was under the effects of the magic reflection spell.

You have gained a little fame.

I left Nemesis with the blood red pack that contains all that he needs to return his health as well passage to town.
The book I left him should explain all and hopefully help him to understand the rules of these caves.

Until next time,
Adam Ant
