There have been a lot of questions regarding factions on AI and what will be implemented. Pixie has authorized me to release the following, noting that all design elements are subject to change.

1) Design and Development resources have been allocated to the project.
2) The faction system will be integrated within the current kin system.
3) There will be an underlying fiction to support the faction system.
4) Faction Scoring will be implemented and it will be more robust than OSI's version.
5) Faction Statloss will be included.
6) PvMers, Crafters and PvPers will all have roles within the system.
7) Non-Faction players will have appropriate penalties for interfering in faction conflict.
8) Town Capture will be possible within the faction system.
9) Town Control will be possible within the system. If feasible, Town Control will be established by those who fight for the town capture (i.e. those who fought and bled for the town will vote who administers it from within their numbers).
10) Town Control will be more robust and rewarding than that found in the OSI system.
11) There will be other undisclosed benefits/rewards for partaking in the faction system.

We are unable to give a timetable for implementation. I felt it was important that people know that the system is being worked upon and some of the key elements that can be expected.

this sounds great.

i have one question/concern about the faction system on AI town control and that is:

How do you suspect the different alliances within each kin (example 2 Britannia Militia Guilds, one chaos and one order) will they still rival eachother and have to fight for town control, or will the new faction system override the different alignment?
