Episode 4: Accountability

  

Episodes are hard to make people. In a previous incarnation we lived in a land of free handouts, item based PvP, and a complete disregard for accountability. This led to a great many amusing situations! However, this new land in which we reside is quite the opposite. The population is somewhat smaller (although it's growing!) and tremendously more experienced. In fact, the residents have been so good that often we have not been ready to record when a funny situation does arise!

 

Such was the case this eve. I shall have to give a little background before we get into our story. 

 

On this particular night the evil Lord of the Rats, Barracoon, had invaded Britain and chased off all the guards. Even after he was struck dead rumor had it that the guards were nowhere to be found! This simply had to be investigated by our local thief, Orion!

 

Upon gating into Britain he found that a small crowd had gathered around the bank. Attempting to appear as non-chalant as possible, Orion stepped up to the bank, opened it, and hid. Almost immediately he was surrounded and they tried to coerce him to come out of hiding.

 

One fellow in particular caught the eye, VioLent J. He said something along the lines of "dood, come out. I know U."

 

The name did seem familiar and nobody was in attack stance.... so Orion made an unwise decision.... and the nano-second he came out of hiding, "VioLent J is attacking you!"

 

This was a very surprising situation so Orion ran in order to collect his whits and to divide up the attackers from the non-attackers. Well, it turned out only VioLent J had attacked so Orion put his thieving skills to work. The first to go were his weapons, an axe out of his pack, and a quick disarm steal for the Scimitar in his hand. Amusingly, VioLent J didn't notice the theft of either so the next to go were the bandages out of his pack.

 

This is the point where a thief with 30 magery becomes dangerous.

 

A quick cast of poison notified VioLent J of his predicement and astoundingly he stopped attacking and begged for his belongings to be returned!

 

Just so it's perfectly clear, VioLent J attacked Orion for no reason at all and now that the tables have turned he wants to stop?

 

I think not..

 

 

 

 

And this would be VioLent J whining because all of his equipment was taken. He stated a variety of intersting things... let's see...

 

1) This shard sucks

2) I'm new

3) Fuck this shard

4) Gimme Stuff!

5) dood I'm new

6) Stop!

 

First off, insulting the land where someone chooses to reside doesn't earn you any favours. Secondly, experience said that this fellow wasn't "new" as he claimed. Something about the way he acted dictated otherwise.

 

Lastly, it wasn't all that much stuff: A regular axe, a regular scimitar, and a handful of bandages... 200 gp?

 

 

At this point it is difficult to understand what he was saying. It appears to be something about quitting the shard...

 

He also states that Orion's name will be up on the boards.

 

Again, unsure of the reasoning here. Would that make VioLent J not get killed? Nope.

 

Killed by a 30 magery thief = Ow my pride!

 

 

  

 

Nothing quite like adding insult to injury... he was dry looted.  

 

 

Upon returning to the bank VioLent J was spouting off about a 10,000 gold reward for the head of Orion!

 

waitasecond?!? How many "new players" have 10,000 gold lying around to spend on  a fellow that took only 200 gold worth of equipment?

 

 

While a moment was taken to bank the belongings VioLent J went on a bit of a rant.

 

It's difficult to read but he says

 

1.) He stole my wep and shit

2.) dont let em get close to u

3.) he right here, wait it out.

 

 

The fellow standing to the lower right is Prophet of GUL. Now, it's uncertain what he was doing in Britain but he had no business getting between VioLent J and Orion.

 

 

Apparently Prophet felt otherwise...

 

 

And VioLent J quickly joined the fray.

 

2 vs 1 on little old me!

 

 

Fighting a thief can be a long process for those who don't specialize in it.

 

It's only polite to make conversation during the chase.

Apparently VioLent J doesn't understand that he started it.

 

 

A friendly reminder of the situation is in order.

Another double-take situation.

 

Earlier he stated that he had 10K to pay for Orions head. How many newbies have that?

 

Only a handful of bandages and two regular weapons were taken.

 

Everything you own?

 

I smell a lie.

 

 

"just lik u runin now"

 

He made some statement about how Orion was a cowardly thief and then continued to call him a chicken and a coward....

Ah yes VioLent J, you deserve the last word... 

Total loot: A few bandages, an axe, and a scimitar.

 

Todays Lesson: Realize that your actions have consequences. If you attack someone and they steal all your things and then kill you, then you deserved it!
