The Misadventures of the Lords of Loot.
Episode 14: A Destard Rescue
I (Finster, The Llama God) would never have gotten into looting had it not been for my good friend Prodigy. Along the road of finding our own unique "looter identities," quite a few funny episodes came from "borrowing" each other's and other people's tactics and catch phrases. Prodigy prided himself on "rescuing" a person's goods, not looting them. He would seek out his victim and ask for the rescue fee to be paid. Today's story is a trip to the past when Destard was a goldmine and Prodigy was my hero.
I arrive in Destard as usual, and I spot a ghost waiting outside for some kind soul to return them to the land of the living. I, at the time, did not know what he was doing, so I attempted to understand his complex language. I quickly lose interest and head inside to find the body.
After a relatively short wait, his body goes bones and I scoop up almost every bit of his loot into my main pack.
Since I saw him walking back alive as soon as his body turned bones, I was forced to loot quickly. The only item worth a damn was his longsword, and I have had trouble giving these low end silver weapons away on my vendor. Most of his armor pieces weren't even EQ either.
I explain what belongings I was able to "save" and he approaches me, ready to receive them. Not so fast, my friend!
He asks about the gold he acquired since I could just take the price out of that.
Off to the bank to reclaim my prize! Even though 500 is a very paltry amount of gold, a true looter does not turn down a change to gain. Tis a business, and business is booming.
Today's Lesson: Meleeing drakes will sometimes cost you more than they are worth.
